Signs of the Camino

John -- Peregrino in action
There’s an element of trust in walking the Camino. Simple yellow arrows and scallop shells mark the way.  Some are easy to see, others are much more subtle, many are lovely.

It happens every day that we walk a long stretch without seeing any sign of the Camino and we begin doubting whether we’re on the correct path. Then we (usually Ning) spots a sign that uplifts us and says, “This way, Pilgrim.”

Who paints these arrows – those that even go through big cities like Pamploma?  Who maintains these trails so beautifully?

Again, thank you, Spain!

This was on a wall in
a small town....

Keep your eyes peeled...
This was a little obscure...

Many cities put scallop shells to show

the Way in their sidewalks...
